Apartments for rent in Monaco: Le Rocher (the Rock)

The Old Town of Monaco - Le Rocher (the Rock) - is also known as Monaco-Ville.

It is here where the history of the Principality began. The picturesque streets are lined with pastel-coloured residences where it is sometimes possible to find an apartment for rent. Monaco-Ville is home to the Prince’s Palace, where generations of the royal Grimaldi family have lived for centuries. The opposite side of the rocky promontory hosts important government buildings, the world-famous Oceanographic Museum and Saint Nicolas Cathedral. During the day, tourists throng the streets to discover the many restaurants and souvenir shops, but in the evenings, the Old Town has an appealing village-like feel.  If you would like to find out more about apartments for rent in Monaco-Ville, please contact one of our experts at La Costa Properties Monaco.

The pharmacy, newsagent, post office and grocery store – all within a few steps from each other – are highly appreciated by locals.

Real Estate in Monaco-Ville

With its unique atmosphere, excellent restaurants, and charming historical residences, it is no surprise that the old town is such a popular hunting-ground for those seeking an apartment for rent. Monaco-Ville real estate often features high ceilings, balconies or roof terraces, as well as decorative elements such as mouldings. If you are lucky enough to find an apartment on the outer edge of the Rock, you will have a view over Fontvieille harbour, Port Hercules or the open sea. Although some apartments come with a garage, they are rare. Many residents rent parking spaces in the Parking des Pecheurs, which is accessible via escalators and a lift next to the Oceanographic Museum.
